Aramis Launch Stores project featured at EU PCI Energy Days
On December 2 and 3, six Dutch CO₂ infrastructure projects, including the Aramis Launch Stores, were showcased at the 2025 edition of the EU PCI Energy Days. Together, these projects demonstrated their development of an integrated network for the large-scale transport and storage of CO2 – not only for the Netherlands, but for all of Northwest Europe.
Building a connected European CO₂ backbone
The Aramis Launch Stores, together with the Aramis, Porthos, CO₂next, DeltaRhineCorridor, and DeltaScheldeCO₂nnection projects, show that their cooperation could lay the foundation for a secure, and cost-effective CO₂ network in the Netherlands. This network will connect industries, ports, and storage sites across borders, accelerating progress towards a climate-neutral Europe.
Projects of Common Interest
The PCI Energy Days are the European Union’s leading platform for showcasing Projects of Common Interest (PCIs) and their contribution to EU energy and climate goals. Organised by the European Commission and delivered by CINEA, the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency, the event brings together policymakers, stakeholders, and industry representatives to shape Europe’s energy infrastructure of the future.
The PCI status of these projects underscores their strategic importance in creating a reliable, cross-border, and future-proof energy network. These initiatives are supported by financial contributions from the European Union.
European Innovation Fund
The Launch Stores project is part of the Aramis PCI and is realised with financial support from the EU Innovation Fund. This funding recognises the project’s pioneering CO₂ storage technologies, as well as its innovative processes and business models.
As part of the Innovation Fund, these innovations are shared with the wider European community to encourage further applications of this technology. The funding also plays a crucial role in enabling the Launch Stores to contribute to the EU’s climate and decarbonisation objectives, particularly those outlined in the EU Industrial Carbon Management Strategy and the Net-Zero Industry Act.
